Orange and Teal

Orange and Teal

Decades, ( and decades and decades) ago, my husband bought a Batik from Java. The renown artist, Agus, comes from a long line of painters and embraces his artistic heritage by creating modern Batiks. He twists this ancestral art with a newer, more contemporary approach, emphasizing, nevertheless, the strong spiritual connection between sky, earth and nature.

Metamorphosis by F. Agus

Although I always liked this Batik, I had never really paid close attention to it, until recently, when I became totally infatuated with its color scheme....

Orange and Teal (and other shades I shan't discuss ...)

Completely OBSESSED ! Love the combination -  Now officially dreaming of living in an Orange and Teal world ...

And so my dream begins...

I would fill my closets with Orange and Teal...

Ralph Lauren

Well, then again, perhaps not...

Those colors... LOVE

I'll take the setting too...

Ain't she sweet...

This dress... ( and the face and the figure, and the tan and...) yes please...please...please....

I admit, I am more this kind of gal....

Orange and Teal (just play along with me here...) living in a perfect world...

And the accessories to go with...

Mochillas are the best summer bags

And although I probably couldn't walk in these Louboutins....who cares.....

Welcome to the Hermes lust club...

Eye candy

We all need want one of those...right ??...

No fighting girls...you can each have one (or 2 or 3 or...)

I would paint my face adequately...

Orange pout via Rag and Bone

Release that inner Diva....

But no matter how hard I try, I'll never get it as right as this...

Feathered  perfection

Closer look

Can't do better than that...

Captivating...

In my dream I would write out a cool invitation...send it to all my friends...

And have a party at my house...

Happy outdoor lights would greet them...

Through my orange and teal living room they'd stride...

Upon my orange and teal rug they'd tread...

Glow they would, in the light of my Tiffany lamp...

Admire the art on my walls....

Under the sea...

I'd cook a "marvelous" meal for them... (it's a dream...remember...)

Entertain on my (kinda) orange and teal terrace

Decorated in style

In all in the right hues...

With candles

And this rose as a gift....

And, when the call for adventure beckons...

I'd....

Jump on my magic wheels...

Cross the enchanted forest, under surreal skies; and ride, ride, ride with the wind, to distant, fantasy lands...

Still in La la land...

UFO skies...

There, I would live in a palace...

 Dream palace color combo

Push open magic gates....

Then magic doors...

And magic windows

Enter delirious dreamy rooms...

Filled with floating glass baubles...

And color washed walls

Where I could curl up and loose myself...

With a cup of Chai...

And a good read

After which, I'd join monks for intense meditation sessions...

Bat style... photographed by Steve Mc Curry...

Then slipping into something comfortable....

A Kimono perhaps...

Or gorgeous Saree...

I'd mount my Blue Elephant...

And head for more orange and teal, tons of it, all of it, at the Holi Festival...

Color blasted !!

Where I would totally drown in a sea of orange and teal, never to be found again...

Well, I guess awkward dreams eventually do come to an end, and, although I am not heading to The Holi Festival just yet ( I really, really want to some day...) , nor am I to wear that dress "to die for" on that balcony,  nor do I own a divine orange "H" bag; I still want to please myself (closer to home and to reality...) with this new color infatuation of mine !

Sooo... searching my closet carefully, I DID find a few things that could possibly fit the bill (just a little...). These are items I have had for EVER and never thought of putting together.

My make-do version of orange and teal

Taking a closer look at nature's perfect color combinations (in fauna and flora) brings constant inspiration. Artists and designers do it all the time. I will be more attentive from now on to all that flies, crawls, swims and flutters... and, by the way, thanks AGUS for the nudge...

A bientôt...
